114234

The Rolex Air-King ref. 114234 occupies a particularly distinctive position within the Air-King family. Introduced alongside the 114200 generation in 2007, it retained the compact 34mm Oyster case and calibre 3130 but replaced the standard smooth bezel with a fluted bezel crafted from 18-carat white gold.

This combination created an unusual interpretation of the Air-King. The model had traditionally been defined by its straightforward stainless-steel construction and functional Oyster aesthetic. The white-gold fluted bezel introduced a more refined character, bringing an element of the Datejust's visual language to one of Rolex's most understated collections.

Like the wider 1142XX generation, the 114234 was chronometer-certified and benefited from the modernised case and bracelet introduced with the series. Its relatively small 34mm proportions also give it a very different presence from the 40mm Air-Kings that followed.

It is an Icon because the 114234 is one of the most distinctive Air-Kings ever produced — combining the collection's understated proportions with Rolex's unmistakable fluted white-gold bezel.
