The Rolex Cellini Danaos ref. 4233 represents Rolex's move during the 1990s towards softer, rounded dress-watch designs. Its cushion-shaped case and 33mm proportions give it a more contemporary appearance than many of the angular Cellinis that preceded it.

The manually wound calibre 1602 and precious-metal construction retain the traditional Cellini formula, while the more substantial case makes the watch particularly wearable today.

It is an Icon because the 4233 marks the point where Cellini began moving from experimentation towards refined modern classicism.
