Rolex Submariner “Starbucks”

The Rolex Submariner “Starbucks” represents the next generation of Rolex’s green-bezel Submariner. Introduced in 2020 as reference 126610LV, it followed the celebrated Kermit and Hulk while taking the Submariner into a new generation of case proportions and movement technology. The watch combines a black Cerachrom ceramic bezel with a black dial and Oystersteel case, creating a more restrained interpretation of the green Submariner than the all-green Hulk. Beneath the familiar design is Rolex’s calibre 3235, while the case increased to 41mm as part of the wider 2020 Submariner update. The nickname “Starbucks” became widely adopted by collectors because of the distinctive green-and-black combination.

Its significance lies in the way Rolex refined an already established modern formula. The 126610LV is not simply another green Submariner: it represents the continuation of a lineage that began with the anniversary 16610LV Kermit and evolved through the 116610LV Hulk. The return to a black dial created a visual connection with the original Kermit while the Cerachrom bezel, 41mm case and calibre 3235 placed it firmly within the contemporary generation. For collectors, the Starbucks offers the combination of one of Rolex’s most important professional watches with one of its most recognisable modern colours.
